This September, we had the privilege of hosting a truly unique and intentional journey—our first all-female Afghan diaspora tour. Four women, two from the USA and two from Australia, traveled back to their homeland for the first time to reconnect with Afghanistan’s history, people, and culture. Their journey through Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif, Kandahar, Herat, and Bamiyan was about more than just sightseeing. They explored Afghanistan’s cuisine, culture, history, and nature while also having meaningful interactions and experiences. From visiting IDP camps and sitting with local Kochis to hear their stories of resilience, to learning about Afghanistan’s ancient history at the National Museum and its modern history in Kandahar, this tour was about connecting with the country on a deeper level.
