Project Management Tips: Hats off to all the project managers out there, it’s definitely not easy especially your first time. I single handily project managed this property without a contracting company. I outsourced each skilled tradesman and managed them accordingly. Here are a few of the things I learnt: - Add 30% contingency on your build cost. - Add 50% project time, it will take longer than you think to complete. - Hand deliver the party wall notice to the neighbour yourself, incase of delay. - Ask the neighbours to book their surveyor as soon as possible. - Do not leave your party wall surveyor to communicate with your architect, structural engineer and contractor they will all keep passing the buck 🥹, Instead manage them and keep a strong line of communication. - Build a great relationship with building control.
