We had a rare night off from parenting, so we decided to stay in Tunbridge Wells in Kent — close to where the family looking after the boys live, and because the Pantiles is such a lovely spot.
If you don’t know it, the Pantiles is a gorgeous, characterful little Georgian colonnade with loads of independent coffee shops, restaurants, boutique stalls and cosy bars.
We went for a Japanese dinner at Kumquat in the Pantiles and it was delicious. We shared the rangdang and the trout, and finished with toasted marshmallows and a mango cream dessert — recommend!
We stayed at One Warwick Park Hotel, which was in the perfect location for an overnight stay . Breakfast is served in the brasserie next door which is cooked to order
We did wake up to the entire town having a water outage the next morning — not the hotel’s fault at all but saw later ppl panic buying water 😅
Sometimes, having a night away where you can switch off, chat properly and relax is just what you need !
