Off-grid family reset at shacks.co We spent the weekend in Cheshire in ‘Sirius’ a solar-powered cabin with bunk beds for the kids, a compost loo, and no distractions—just nature. Waking up to open fields, long walks, and a nearby petting farm was magic. The kids loved it, we reconnected, and even learned how much water and energy we actually use at home. Tip: if you’re bringing little ones, get them in the shower first—hot water is limited! We explored local villages ( Tarporley was a favourite), had a lush Sunday roast at The Rising Sun, and even popped into Chester for a wander and a visit to the Sick to Death museum—brilliant to educate on medicine through the years but a bit spooky for the youngest!
