Early morning lifts to lakes. Standing patiently in tackle shops for HOURS. Pretending to understand why I “needed” another rod. Listening to endless fishing stories on the way home. She probably didn’t realise it at the time… but she was fuelling the dream. Mums really are the original supporters before anyone else is watching.
