The beauty of 1.2 also comes with a caution β οΈ β¦
So youβve just got a 50mm 1.2/1.4 lens and now your a real pro because DAMMMNNN! That bokeh is dreamy π BUT you still canβt get those epic catch shots!? your new PB is pin sharp but your face now looks like frosted glass!
STOP π π€π»
Low apertures mean SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD - which means the amount of the image that will be in focus is drastically lower at f1.2/1.4 than it is at f2.8-5.6
TRY THIS..
First β‘οΈ bookmark this post so you can come back to it later π€
1.Setup your camera or take your shots from slightly further away (you can always crop your shots afterwards) this will increase the area (depth of field) that will be in focus
2. Keep your catch as close to your body as possible. Ideally your fish should be underneath your chin so that your face and the carp are in line (no pun intended π)
3. Keep your camera at the same height as your subject (the fish) or if your in the water as close to the water as you dare BE CA...
