Propagating native Tennessee passion fruit vine from cuttings! Yesterday I told my family I had read that passion fruit, or “maypop” as they call it here, is native to middle Tennessee and I wanted plants to climb our tennis fences. The flowers are stunning and smell incredible, they grew fast, we all love the fruit AND I can get back to making the relaxing passion fruit medicine I made for clients and family from my home garden in LA. A few hours later, I took the girls to go check on our blackberry bushes at the edge of our property and guess who I saw strangling our berry bushes! Haha Passion fruit was vining all over the berry bushes! I released the two plants so they can each thrive and took two branches of the passion fruit to start rooting and eventually transplanting! This one was clearly loved by a hungry caterpiller, but she’s perfect for giving us new plants. 🌱 I’ll root some in water and some in soil and see what we get in 6 weeks. I love it when my garden listens to...
