Sensitive restoration Over the past five years, Nancy has lovingly restored her 220-year-old Georgian Grade II listed home, breathing life back into its tired but grand old bones. Every detail, from the reintroduction of cornicing and decorative timber mouldings to the delicately proportioned sash windows, to the fireplaces has been thoughtfully chosen to honour the historic nature of the house. Just out of the shot are the original double doors between the two living rooms which have stood the test of time, in fact they are the only items mentioned on the listing of the property. New items like the other doorways were restored with the lamb’s tongue reeded profile copied from the original doors. Even the reeded Bloxwich door knobs were carefully selected to stay true to the home’s Georgian history.
