Who keeps things moving on site? Our latest journal post explores the role of the project manager in residential architecture. We explain how this is a distinct role from the architect and why having a client-side professional who tracks procurement, subcontractor appointments and programme commitments can have a major impact on how smoothly and quickly a project is delivered. We also look at when it can make sense for one person to take on multiple responsibilities and why, on many projects, a streamlined team leads to faster decisions, clearer communication and better oversight. That said, we also share when separate professionals might still be the right call, particularly on complex projects or where daily client input is essential.
