A personal post - A calm corner of the principal bedroom in my own home – a Grade II listed Georgian house that had been stripped of almost all original features when we bought it. Over time, we carefully reinstated what had been lost: shutters, cornicing, fireplaces, architraves – all redesigned to reflect the proportions and details of the Georgian period. Very little here is original apart from the window which we had to substantially repair, but everything was chosen to feel as though it could have been. The joinery around the arched window brings together storage, shelving and full-height shutters in one coherent piece – designed to feel quiet, calm and timeless.
