Tackling Sani Pass in My Land Cruiser 79 Sani Pass is not for the faint-hearted, especially with a heavy vehicle like my Land Cruiser 79. The key to conquering this challenging ascent is using 4L in second or even first gear. The steep switchbacks and loose surfaces demand precision and control. With 4L engaged, I can even stop to take photos of the incredible views and start back up without a problem. Though the 1HZ engine in my Cruiser is known for being tireless, it is definitely underpowered for such climbs. But with patience and the right gearing, it always gets me to the top.
