LIONS OF KALAHARI
I had promised nicolas_rebours and nyko__95 to show them some lions in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
It’s always easier said than done.
Your best chances are always early in the morning and before dusk.
During the hot days of the Kalahari, those big cats get pretty lazy. They obviously suffer from heat and try to save some energy by laying low in the shade. Of course, they love hunting at night as their night vision is a clear advantage over their preys.
We saw those two males. Probably brothers or cousins. There is an obvious age difference. They had some evidences of affection between them which confirms that they are related. Young lions are chased away from the pride once they reach puberty. Hunting alone is extremely difficult and they often form alliances with brothers and cousins until they can take over a new pride and chase away the old alpha male.
