5 Regrets I have About My PhD Journey
I often look back at my PhD years and reflect.
Sometimes of the achievements I was grateful to get but also the thing I wish I did better.
With that in mind here are 5 regrets I had about my PhD Journey
✅ - Establishing Ground Rules Early On
I was dictate a lot and because I didn’t get boundaries early on it made life a lot difficult for me in having my own “me time”
✅ - Rushing To Collect Data
I was so fixated on getting data that I made so many mistakes. I did not value or take extra care in really learning the techniques. Mastering them meant less issues when collecting data.
✅ - Getting My Supervisors To Do More
I realised I did a lot of the work my supervisors were “supposed to do” getting them to do their job meant more time for me to do mine.
✅ - Establishing External Collabs Early
Although I networked well I really wish I pushed the narrative of establishing better external collabs to yield more publications.
