Your Entire PhD Experience Is Based On Your Field I have been grateful enough to conduct research if various fields and although there can be similarities in the good and bad. 

I have noticed stark differences in culture within research academia. The biomedical science fields the STEMS fields as a whole can house a lot of the toxic culture you see from fellow sci comm accounts. But I dip into sports science a bit during my time and the culture is a lot more cohesive and fun. The cut throat business is rarely seen there, definitely not as much as the biomedical science areas.
