“The Power in My Shadow” & “The Power of My Shadow”
… refer to the concept of Shadow Work, a Jungian psychology practice of integrating hidden, often negative, aspects of the self (the Shadow) to gain wholeness, creativity, and authentic power, transforming suppressed traits ( for example) like anger or jealousy into constructive energy for personal growth, intuition, and better self-expression. It’s about discovering hidden potential and strength within what we deny, turning inner Darkness into usable Light.
What it is: The unconscious part of personality containing repressed feelings, instincts, desires, weaknesses, and even forgotten strengths, deemed unacceptable by the ego or society.
How it forms: We suppress traits to fit in, creating the Shadow as an opposite to our conscious self (ego).
Destructive vs. Constructive: Destructive shadow manifests as self-sabotage, projection, or unhealthy impulses; constructive shadow holds intuition, hidden talents, and potent energy.
