As a Recovered Perfectionist, I know how hard it can seem to let go of Perfectionism. ⁠ ⁠ ▪️The need to prove yourself through every single detail ▪️Getting stuck in chronic procrastination cycles and then working in a frenzy at the last minute (anxious feelings through the roof) ▪️Constantly expecting more of yourself and dismissing any good results that come your way anyway. ⁠ It was an exhausting cycle 🔁⁠ nothing was ever enough. ⁠ But for us to achieve our career goals AND actually believe we are deserving of them, we have to be willing to let go of the idea of ‘Perfection’.⁠ We need to strive for excellence instead. And we need to establish our “good enough” metrics. Even in the most demanding of professions - where mistakes can be serious, perfection is not the answer. It’s time to release the pressure valve.
