Closed Rhinoplasty | Before & 1 Year Post-Op Swipe to see my patient’s pre-op and 1-year results. ✨ For primary rhinoplasty, I often prefer a closed approach, and in selected patients I also use dorsal preservation rhinoplasty techniques. By working through incisions inside the nostrils, we can refine the nose while preserving the external skin envelope—helping to minimize visible scarring and support a natural-looking result. With dorsal preservation, the goal is to maintain the patient’s natural dorsal lines while making the necessary structural adjustments, rather than fully removing and rebuilding the bridge. In appropriately selected cases, this can help achieve a more harmonious profile and smoother transitions. At 1 year, the nose is typically much more defined and settled. However, healing can still continue—especially in thick-skinned noses, where final refinement may take longer as swelling gradually resolves and tissues mature.
