Before surgery, I carefully assess eyelid anatomy and design the incision and excision pattern to match the patient’s eye shape and brow position. One of the most important steps is selecting an optimal amount of skin to remove—not too little (which may leave heaviness) and not too much (which can create tension or an unnatural look). I take special care to find this balance to keep the eyelids looking smooth, comfortable, and natural. At 3 months, swelling has largely settled and the eyelids typically look more open and rested, while the scar continues to mature and soften over time. Individual results vary.
