That’s fifteen million camera phones raised in unison, fifteen million selfies framed by strangers, fifteen million ways to smother what should have been a fleeting encounter with wonder. But that’s not the story I wanted. I went looking for absence. I wanted to see what these structures look like when stripped of spectacle—when the crowd no longer dictates the experience. No chatter, no queues, no restless shuffle of bodies. Just steel, concrete, and timber breathing on their own. Forms and curves surfacing like bones beneath skin, architecture whispering instead of shouting. Empty, the pavilions tell another story.
