LET’S TALK ABOUT BUILDING MOMENTUM & SUCCESS. We’ve all seen it. That graph that shows a straight line from the starting point to the goal. And then the second graph that shows a squiggly line from the starting point to the goal. The point of the graphs is to show that the squiggly line is reality. No one gets the straight shot to the goal. It takes steps forward and steps back and question marks and pivots and one million lessons learned. I’m reflecting on this a lot lately. Ten years ago I was a second year law student and hosted the first arcticencounter at my law school. Now, it’s the largest Arctic meeting in North America. I’m not sharing this to point out a success. I’m sharing this to talk about the very complex and anything but straight line that represents that ten year journey.
