I hope it becomes normal for women to demand to be paid for doing influencer work, creative work, any work.” — Me, Under The Influence (2022) I started fypm.vip for a lot of the same reasons I started msyoungprofessional : to get more $$ into the hands of women, and more women into positions of power by destigmatizing our bodies and our labor. “Influencing” is no different. It’s no coincidence the business of “influencing” started getting taken seriously around the same time influencers began calling themselves “creators” and more men began entering the industry, despite being around for years. And like many initially female-led emerging industries in history (ex: software engineering - seriously, google it!), it’s no coincidence both the $$ and the inequities followed suit.
