My brother Trendell in Audubon Park for the Yellow Chair Trendell and I became friends the first day of kindergarten. I’ll spare you the story, but by the end of the first day one of us turned to the other and we asked if we were friends and here we are this many years later. Regarding Katrina, I’ll never forget the first day back at Audubon. The cameras, old friends, the whole experience was surreal but finding my best friend made life alright. There’s a video of he and I being interviewed that first day back that exists somewhere in the ether (or that was the story I was told) but maybe it’s been lost to time.
