Mount Carmel was the high place where Prophet Elijah stood alone against nearly 1,000 false prophets— and by the power of the Living God, Baal was overthrown and God’s rightful rule was restored. We are living in a similar hour. Many will claim the name of Jesus Christ. Some will call themselves Christians or Evangelicals. Others will take titles—prophet, apostle, leader. Some are wolves in sheep’s clothing, presiding over people in churches, using their gifts for mammon (money). Many will prophesy and perform signs and wonders. But God still tests everything by fire. That’s why it’s critical, now more than ever, that we abide in the Living Word and remain under the governance of the Holy Spirit.
