Rule
#1 of cardio:
(Btw this applies to squash too)
Don’t skip the warmup!
And also, never judge your session based off how you feel in the warmup.
Treat the warmup as a chance to get all the cobwebs out.
Plus, you will get MUCH more out of your session if you do a warmup before getting into intervals especially.
Rather than using the first couple intervals to warm up, give yourself 5-10 minutes to increase your heart rate, get a sweat on, and get over that first “oxygen debt” hurdle.
Also if you don’t do a warmup, the first time you hit that oxygen debt, it will feel like a MASSIVE shock to your system which can actually backfire and leave you feeling worse in the session- or your match!!!!!
Save this as a little reminder, and share it with someone who never does a warmup but really should do!!!
