More tips for an effective cool down: - These exercises are probably not new to you. But the attention to detail might be (keep reading) - Don’t “yank” at your muscles. Aim for a 3/10 stretch intensity. - The primary goal of the cool down is to shift your nervous system from “fight or flight” to “rest and digest”. This means the WAY you cool down is as important as WHAT you do. So stay off your phone, focus on deep breathing, and truly try to relax. At the end of the day, cool downs won’t “fix” any damage that’s been done in your workout (only rest is going to do that), but it can help shift your body into the parasympathetic state, which is where the recovery process will take place.
