I’ve realized that I will need to warm up and do prehab (specially hip prehab) for the rest of my squash playing career (and beyond).
Am I upset about it? Nope.
There was a lonnnnng time in the 2021-2022 season where I was hobbling through and struggling with a torn labrum and bursitis.
Ive had many days, weeks, and months where I’ve wondered if I would ever move pain free again on a squash court.
The torn labrum is still there, but I’ve taken the rehab process like a staircase: step by step.
Every week and every month I aim to take a small step forwards.
Now, here we here 4+ years later and I finally have more ‘great’ days than bad days.
Just the other day, I played a match without any limitations *and* without ibuprofen or pain killers! (If you’ve ever been in chronic pain, you feel me here!).
All thanks to showing up and diligently doing exercises like this 👆🏽, and learning how to manage my training load better.
