Brown butter double chocolate cookies πͺ
Dry Ingredients
β’ 160 g all-purpose flour β 1 β

β’ 18 g cocoa powder β 3 tbsp
β’ Β½ tsp baking powder
β’ Pinch of salt β ~1/8 tsp
Wet Ingredients
β’ 127 g unsalted butter β 9 tbsp
β’ 65 g brown sugar β β
cup, packed
β’ 65 g granulated sugar β β
cup
β’ 1 large egg
Mix-ins
β’ Lots of chocolate chunks β 100β150 g (ΒΎβ1 cup), or more
Instructions
1. Brown the Butter
β’ Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
β’ Let it foam and cook until golden brown and nutty.
β’ Pour into a bowl and cool to room temperature (warm to the touch is fine, but not hot).
β’ Include all the brown milk solids β they add flavor.
2. Mix Wet Ingredients
β’ In a bowl, combine brown sugar + granulated sugar.
β’ Add the cooled brown butter and mix until smooth and glossy.
β’ Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.
3. Mix Dry Ingredients
β’ In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
