Am I too old to start med school? Am I falling behind everyone else?
I’ve asked myself this so many times.
But honestly? I’ve realised being older is a privilege.
If I could go back in time, I’d still choose to get rejected at 16 and get in 4 years later.
Because those years gave me clarity, grit, and perspective.
Now that I’m surrounded by classmates who are 23, 24, even in their 30s… I see how maturity really shows up in medicine — in how we handle pressure, how we study, and how we keep going.
So what if your friends are already working?
Would you rather rush into a job you hate, or spend a few years building a career you’ll love for decades?
You’re not behind.
You’re just on a path that needs a little more patience. And that’s okay!
Because this path? It’s worth it!
📌Save this for later!
