You DON’T need perfect grades to become a doctor!
Medical students are often seen as academic weapons, and for international students, the pressure is even higher. With limited places, we’re expected to be even more competitive just to have a chance. But let’s be real - I don’t have perfect grades. And.. when you’re surrounded by insanely smart people, imposter syndrome hits hard.
But here’s the truth: better grades ≠ better doctors. I know people with top 2% UCAT scores who didn’t get into med school. Med schools aren’t just looking for stats; they want well-rounded, reflective individuals who are committed to growth.
So if you’re stressing over not having perfect grades, take a breath. Instead of fixating on numbers, focus on your STORY —your journey, reflections, and what makes you YOU. That’s what truly sets you apart! Good luck to everyone applying to medicine and I’ll see you in the hospital one day ;D
