Let’s be honest: enjoying dinner out is a popular option for many of us - and deservedly so. It’s what keeps your head up during a stressful week of work. Knowing that once Friday comes you can let your hair down, eat your favourite foods and sip on your favourite drinks. ⁣⁣ But if we visit restaurants on regular basis and have body composition goals (i.e. fat loss), success is often blunted by the delicious foods that happen to be calorie dense. In some instances, one meal out can often undo all the hard work you’ve down in that week. This often leads to feelings of worry and anxiety about upcoming social events. However as my graphic shows, there are opportunities to select similar foods, with similar quantities and tastes, with lower calories. NOTE: It must be remembered that we only live once and the point of going out for dinner is not to track the calories you consume - it is to appreciate the company of friends and family, and enjoy your favourite foods.
