Today I honor my roots. It has been 12 years since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, and 4 years since the full-scale war came to our land. Ukraine gave me my strength — my resilience, my faith, my spirit. Canada gave me opportunity — and a second home that I absolutely love and cherish. I am proud of my Ukrainian roots. Proud of the courage and bravery of my people. And deeply proud to be Canadian. I came to Canada 21 years ago, by myself. Today, I have my entire family here. Every day I carry Ukraine in my heart. I pray for peace, for freedom, and for all Ukrainians to live safely in their own homeland.
