Thatās Batalla de Flores in Valencia ā a tradition thatās been around since 1891.
Every last Sunday of July, Paseo de la Alameda turns into a street filled with flower-covered floats and⦠a full-on flower fight.
Participants toss tens of thousands of bright orange and yellow carnations into the crowd, and the crowd throws them right back.
It started as a way to close Valenciaās July Fair with joy and beauty, celebrating life with something as simple (and symbolic) as flowers. The air smells like summer, petals cover the ground like confetti, and everyone ā strangers and friends ā canāt stop laughing.
When and where to experience this?

If you ever get the chance, go. Traditions like this remind you how celebration doesnāt need much ā just people, andā¦a few thousand flowers. š
