I’m not a perfect dad. 

I get short with my kids. 

I have to remind myself to put the phone down. 

And I don’t do this every night. But Emily sent me this old video with my daughter Ellie when she was 2. 

She’s 5 now… starting kindergarten, “big girl” gymnastics… and the message is still the same: 1 - You are loved for who you are and you don’t have to earn it. 
2 - You are safe.. free to fail, try new things, and be yourself. 
3 - With effort and time, you can do anything. This is what I want my kids to feel and what I want them to believe. What about you? What phrases do you speak over your kids?
