Bill Cunninghdied in June of 2016. Months later, after taking a much needed break from running TV shopping networks I had rented a screening room at Soho House in NYC and invited a posse of Bill’s colleagues, his friends, and some of my own friends, and screened for them the complete interview I did with Bill in 1994. I was mindful that some that attended were still mourning Bill’s death. I was equally mindful that some were thinking and later saying out loud, “Who the F does this guy think he is?” “He was in TV shopping for F’s sake.” “How dare he have an interview with Bill that no one has ever seen!”. And truthfully who could blame them? But I had to screen it and hope for the best.
