The New Orleans Jazz Museum recently completed its first VIP Cultural Exchange Journey to the Dominican Republic, an experience designed to strengthen meaningful connections between the people of New Orleans and the Dominican Republic. The journey offered travelers exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to cultural experiences and local leaders that would not typically be part of a traditional visit.
Throughout the trip, participants explored several remarkable destinations within the province of Puerto Plata.
At Chukka Park in Guzmancito, the group enjoyed a traditional Dominican lunch, time along the crystal-blue coastline, and the Ocean Zipline while taking in breathtaking views of the northern shore.
In Maimón, the delegation shared a special evening together featuring traditional sancocho and visited Countryside Roots (Mariposario / Butterfly Garden), a beautiful space celebrating nature and local heritage, graciously hosted by its owner.
