Sports bring people together, but the best part of this journey? The friendships that come with it. I’ve had the privilege of watching this guy go from fighting just to qualify, to becoming one of the best to ever do it, and even becoming Olympic Champion. Tomorrow is his home race, and while I’ll be giving it everything I’ve got to beat him, I’m also rooting for him. When the local riders do well, it’s a win for all of us and for the sport.
