I’ll admit I don’t know how to start this. So let’s start at the ending and work our way back.
The term “locked in” has been used commonly to describe athletes intense focus in preparation for a game. To this point Praire View had played the most matches in the tournament(3); A close game against Alcorn State, upsetting the
#1 seed in Grambling, and a blowout of Alabama A&M to advance to the championship. Playing 4 games in 5 days would take a toll on any athlete, even more so a player that played every minute of the tournament. During warmups I observed
@2thouxand “locked in” and filed it mentally.
As the game against Southern concluded and the celebrations, net cutting, trophy photos, and post-game interviews ended as well. I had my mind focused on a specific photo once the noise finally stopped.
