Between Oct. 10 and Dec. 8 of last year, Data & Investigation reporters at The Maneater spoke to Mizzou students about their thoughts on campus safety. The majority of students said they felt safe on campus, however for some students, the university is not doing enough. “It's sad that a lot of my friends and I are kind of scared to go out at night, especially in Greektown, just because there's just so much violence that's happening against women,” said sophomore Molly Peters. “And I think that a lot could be done to improve it.” Data & Investigation reporters surveyed 307 students about their thoughts on safety at Mizzou. While around 96% of students reported feeling safe, only 33% of students said they approved of how the university is handling student safety.
