@James Blake predicted a bleak future for recorded music as fans seek ways to connect through non-digital means. "Watching someone live is so far away from the phone and streaming, but it's not that far away from a vinyl that was pressed," Blake said in an interview with Apple Music, comparing direct-to-vinyl and digital recording processes. He argued that the former has an innate connection to the artist, since there are minimal recording steps between the listener and the music itself. "My connection with an audience happens in the room... It's why I get up in the morning," Blake said regarding being able to translate his work to a live environment. To promote his new album, Blake will tour in North America in late May and early June. - via @Apple Music #pigeonsandplanes #jamesblake #livemusic #tryingtimes #newmusic
