REMOVING THE KITCHEN ISLAND! A bit of a controversial move at thelittlewildfarm today. We’ve de-renovated and removed the kitchen island! Despite this being a lovely big open plan kitchen, you couldn’t actually fit in a decent size dining table. So for the last year we’ve been sitting with plates on our laps and on the floor! I mean it’s been kind of fun, but there comes a point when you do actually want to sit at a table? Just sometimes? Lol. So for the sake of more comfortable and social eating, we’ve sacrificed work surface and storage. But we reckoned the table was a great big work surface anyway. We’ve kept all the sections of the island in the barn, so that we can hopefully reuse them when we reconfigure the rest of the kitchen, because we’re going to re-use, rather than get a brand new one.
