This unique piece and "Alex Withdrawn" (which became a successful series) were the first times I used my current process: the model poses for an initial sculpture in clay which is then fired - I call this the first stage. The second stage involves reworking the piece from memory and imagination using tools to subtract volume, epoxy clay to add volume, and colors to distinguish certain areas.
