YOU NEED TO HEAR: Skino Skino is ready for war. The Southeast DC rapper has taken DMV’s rap scene by force with a commanding voice and reckless persona. His ear for beats—from producers like TrapMoneyBiggie, Yoyotheproducer, and Kato Sossa—is pushing the region’s crank and freecar sounds to their darkest and most chaotic, like buzzing single “You Good Mud?” Projects like ‘Middle of Hell’ and ‘Ghazi Living’ showcase Skino’s grim worldview, but his relentless flow works just as well over smoother tracks like recent single “We Not Alike.” #Skino is on the cover of our Discover: Hip-Hop playlist 🎧 spotlighting the best rising rappers you need to know.
