Almost one year in New York and I finally understand what everyone meant… Everyone tells you before you move here it’s hard, it’ll chew you up and spit you out, just be prepared. And honestly, when I first got here, I didn’t feel that at all. For months everything felt fine, more than fine. It felt exciting and magical, like I was just living inside a dream I had worked so hard for. But then something shifts. Not that the magic goes away because it doesn’t, but there comes a moment where you have to look at yourself in the mirror and ask, am I actually building a life here or am I just experiencing it.
