USF Sport Management have arrived in Australia! 🇦🇺🌏 Day 1 of the Global Immersion course focused on learning, connection, and cultural understanding. Students participated in a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by Kombumerri descendants, the Indigenous custodians of the Gold Coast. The ceremony welcomes visitors onto ancestral lands and shares the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Thank you to the Ngarang-Wal Gold Coast Aboriginal Association for sharing your knowledge and culture with our students. We extend this gratitude to elders, past and present native to the Gold Coast and across the nation. We also enjoyed a beach BBQ hosted by RDK Sports International and connected with USFSM alum Erik Rowan ’20, Head Coach – Rowing at Somerset College, who reflected on lessons from the USFSM program.
