Most people follow up once, maybe twice, then stop. Not because they got a no, because they got nothing.
And nothing feels like a no.
But the follow up game isn’t about persistence for its own sake.
It’s about staying in someone’s peripheral vision long enough that when the timing shifts (and timing always shifts) you’re the first name that surfaces.
The investor I describe in the video didn’t suddenly change their mind in October. Their situation changed. Their time freed up. A conversation happened.
You can’t control timing. You can only control whether you’re still in the room when it turns.
The real skill is the willingness to keep showing up after it stops feeling rational.
That’s what closes deals.
