Autumn Polar Bear Dreams Polar bears are dangerous animals. It takes careful planning and understanding of their behavior to capture them in their natural environment. Churchill is known as the polar bear capital of the world and I can confirm that I’ve never seen so many in one expedition. This young bear was walking along when a truck on a nearby road scared him. This resulted in him sprinting across a meadow no more than 70 yards from us. That may sound far off but when they can run at 25mph it isn’t!
