The doves in Queensland are extraordinary! The first dove featured here is the Rose-Crown Fruit Dove with beautiful plumage that really catches the eye. The second image features the Emerald Dove with nice green plumage and bright red beak. Bird spotting is not nearly as straightforward as I imagined. It takes patience and stealthy ninja like persistence to get the shot without scaring the subject away. There were countless encounters on this expedition where I had the image framed up perfectly and the bird would fly away immediately!
