We celebrated the year’s best storytelling with deepened purpose thanks to Sir eltonjohn and ejaf. Over $10million was raised on Sunday to continue to fight the HIV/AIDS crisis around the world. Seeing how the current Administration has decimated global programs that help in this fight has been devastating, and makes the work #EJAF does even more critically important. This is a battle we can win, so long as we stay committed. The organizers put it perfectly: “At a moment when funding is being pulled, attention is drifting, and the stakes couldn’t be higher, people showed up. That’s why nights like #EJAFOscars matter. Proof that when compassion is fierce enough, it cannot be dimmed.” Fierce Compassion, indeed. (And being the cheering section for dualipa’s corset getting sold during the auction sure was fun too.
