Auburn Football kicked off spring practice yesterday. A few new tidbits were spotted on the practice field.
Auburn is once again using Guardian Caps 2.0, the soft shell covering on the helmets, to help reduce impacts to the head during practice. New this year, however, are custom Caps with the helmet design infused directly to the Cap. The Tigers have previously worn plain Guardian Caps with no decoration. Some teams will utilize their usual gameday decals, but it appears that Auburn's are screenprinted directly onto the covering.
Additionally, the helmets themselves are almost fully decaled as if they were ready to be worn for a game. Auburn traditionally leaves the AU off the sides for practices. Some players were spotted with the full allotment of decals on the back of the shell, including the Chette Williams memorial decal worn last year.
