A hotel guest was sexually assaulted by a man who was given the key card to her room at Travelodge in Berkshire, England. Kyran Smith was jailed for seven and a half years for the attack that took place in December 2022. The victim told the BBC that Travelodge, “took a very long time to reply to me and didn’t really take it very seriously”. Travelodge initially offered the victim a £30 refund, which she described as “insulting”, before they issued an apology.
